I am Chairman of Uovo Limited and we recently engaged Westchester to represent us in what was a successful sale of the business. What I have found particularly rewarding about working with Westchester is their very personal, hands-on, and committed approach.
They seemed totally focused on the job at hand, they were without exception quick to respond to questions and handled issues in a pro-active way. The discussions were always frank and open; there was no sub-text or beating around the bush, whether those discussions were within our team, or between our team and the other party. The sense was always that they were absolutely on top of the game, if not already ahead of it.
The other key way in which Westchester was able to add considerable value in the process of selling Uovo, related to their very strong negotiating skills. The commercial negotiations were handled in such a way that, within the context of a deal that we believed would create real value for both parties, all the available options were identified and thoroughly evaluated, and then the chosen position was always well presented.
Westchester was always looking for the win-win, rather than simply trying to score points, which would have been potentially counter-productive, and they helped maintain an open and productive relationship with the other party through some difficult moments.
On the strength of our experience on the selling side, I have no hesitation in recommending Westchester for similar M&A activity.
